I had the opportunity to sit down with the owner and operator of a new boutique in downtown Las Vegas, The Honeypot.
The Honeypot specializes in artwork, crystals, minerals, and fine jewelry but have an amazing array of fashion items as well. Jocelyn started The Honeypot eight years ago out of the trunk of her car at Grateful Dead concerts, selling her crystals and minerals and from there moved to music festivals. Four years ago, she added clothing to her inventory. But not just the same thing that everyone else is selling, but the Honeypot specializes in the eclectic. Wanting to showcase up and coming artists, Jocelyn partners them with designers to get their art on clothing. One of the artists that has worked with The Honeypot recently is Aztec. He created the mural that is on the front of the boutique, located at 1409 S Main Street in Downtown Las Vegas. His work is also featured on some baseball caps that are offered in the boutique.
They have also signed a deal to showcase a series of crystal lady paintings by another artist very soon. The COVID 19 pandemic had a slight effect on The Honeypot. They were supposed to open before the Governor shut down all nonessential business in March.
Jocelyn says that being able to sell online has been a blessing while dealing with the shutdown. Now that most of the quarantine restrictions have been lifted, they are hoping to have more people come in. Jocelyn tells me that they hope to be able to have shows and workshops soon so that we can get back to being social. You can find The Honeypot on Instagram at @thehoneypotlv.
